New energy will continue to develop rapidly in the future
Driven by a series of favorable policies, "new energy + energy storage" projects have been rapidly rolled out across the country. Since the beginning of this year, Shanxi, Shandong, Ningxia, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia and other places have introduced new energy configuration energy storage schemes. According to incomplete statistics, more than a dozen provinces have required new energy power stations to configure energy storage this year, and the configuration ratio is more than 10%, and relevant projects are accelerating the landing.
Vigorously developing the energy storage industry is an inevitable requirement for the rapid expansion of China's new energy installed capacity. Compared with the conventional power supply, the new energy generator has small capacity, large number, scattered points, and has significant intermittency, volatility and randomness characteristics. With the large-scale development of new energy and the high proportion of grid-connected, the power balance, security and stability control will face unprecedented challenges.
By the end of 2020, China's installed wind power and solar power generation capacity is about 530 million kilowatts, accounting for 24% of the total installed capacity. In the future, new energy will still maintain the momentum of rapid development, and it is expected that by 2030, the installed capacity of wind power and solar power will reach more than 1.2 billion kilowatts, surpassing the scale of coal power and becoming the main installed capacity. Whether it is the large-scale intensive development of centralized new energy or the nearby consumption of distributed new energy, it is inseparable from the support of energy storage technology.
In order to encourage the development of the energy storage industry, favorable policies have been intensively introduced. Previously, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of New Energy Storage, which clearly stated that by 2025, new energy storage will be transformed from the initial commercialization to large-scale development. By 2030, new energy storage will be fully marketized. The "Guiding Opinions" also put forward the installed capacity target for the first time from the national level: it is expected that by 2025, the new energy storage installed capacity will reach more than 30 million kilowatts, close to the current new energy storage installed capacity of 10 times.
Liu Yafang, a second-level inspector of the Energy conservation and science and Technology equipment Department of the National Energy Administration, said that the next step is to guide the scale and layout of development, give full play to the role of energy storage to improve the adjustment capacity, comprehensive efficiency and security guarantee capacity of the energy power system, and avoid the problem of disorderly construction and underutilization; Strengthen technological innovation, overcome short-board technology, and promote cost reduction and scale development with technological progress, and improve the security and reliability of the ontology; At the same time, improve the policy supporting and market environment, fully reflect the system value of energy storage, achieve profit through the market mechanism, and cultivate a mature business model.
Under the premise of ensuring safe development, the energy storage industry should adhere to a diversified development path. Experts said that different technical routes have their advantages and disadvantages, which technical route to choose, how to match the installed machine, must not only follow the baton of capital to go. Relevant departments should do a good job of top-level design, combined with China's existing industrial environment, technical level, cost and other factors, accurately select energy storage technology suitable for China's national conditions to give key support and cultivation. At the same time, for the controversial energy storage technology, it is necessary to cautiously expand commercial operations.
